3 Stage: SElim bo1/Round Robin/bo3 finals SSB:M

in terms of the Super Smash Brothers: Melee tournament it will be broken up into stages.

Terminology definitions:
A game will consist of stock lives and time limits determined per stage of the tournament
A match will consists of a set amount of games determined per stage of the tournament

If you are not present for the beginning of a match you will forfeit the tournament; we will not wait for you, this is why we have a schedule


Stage 1:

During this stage there will be no set breaks. Take them where you can, but make sure you can get back to your spot when we call for you. There will be a 15 minute break after this stage for all entrants. Please prepare yourself in advance for this.

In this stage a match will consist of best of 1 game. A game will consist of 3 stock lives and 5 minute timelimit. The map is negotiated between the two players at game creation time, if there is a dispute an admin will pick a map at random.

This stage will consist of a single elimination. We will progress to Stage 2 when there are 6 entrants (or less) left, preferably 6. We will call out players continually as this stage progresses. We will not setup an infinite number of systems so be aware that we will only process so many players at a time.

Once there are 6 (or less) entrants left there will be a 15 minute break for all entrants before Stage 2 starts. Stage 2 will start after thsi time, please ensure you will be present for Stage 2.


Stage 2:

During this stage there will be no breaks. Games will go back to back, prepare yourself to take no breaks during this stage. There will be a 15 minute break after this stage for all entrants.

In this stage a match will consist of a best of 1 game. A game will consist of 4 stock lives and 8 minute timelimit. The map is negotiated between the two players at game creation time, if there is a dispute an admin will pick a map at random.

This stage will be a round robin series. Once the series is complete the top two players will progress to finals, and the bottom four will progress to semi-finals.

Once the series is complete we will take a 15 minute break for all entrants. Players may waive this break, but we will not force people to play in advance of the 15 minutes if they do not want to.


Stage 3:

During this break we will allow short breaks, no longer than 5 minutes, if they are absolutely necessary (emergency bathroom).

For Finalists: In this stage a match will consist of a best of 1 game. A game will consist of 4 stock lives and 8 minute timelimit.
For Semi-Finalists: In this stage a match will consist of a best of 1 game. A game will consist of 4 stock lives and 8 minute timelimit.

Finals will be a best of 3 matches. Take note, finalists will be allowed to switch characters between matches in this series. The first map is negotiated between the two players, every map thereafter is chosen by the loser of the previous match.

Semi-finals will be a single elimination, consisting of best of 1 matches. The map is negotiated between the two players at game creation time, if there is a dispute an admin will pick a map at random.


Rules:
-All games will be played on Nintendo Gamecube systems provided by LANified!
-All players will show professional courtesy to one another
-All characters are allowed
-A game DOES NOT begin until BOTH players have finalized their character selection, a game starting before both players are ready will be reset ONLY ONCE. We do not tolerate abuse of this system and may eject someone from a tournament if they do.
-All items are off
-Only Player 1 and Player 2 slots are allowed, Player 3 and Player 4 slots are disallowed.
-All players are expected to bring their own controllers compatable with the Nintendo Gamecube system, we advise against wireless controllers due to interferance
-The allowed map list is as follows:
